For this project, I developed the core brand identity for Tymbr, an outdoor navigation tech startup. Tymbr’s mission is to empower outdoor adventurers with reliable and intuitive navigation tools, fostering a deeper connection with nature. The brand values innovation, adventure, and community, targeting young Americans aged 20-25 who are eager to explore and navigate new terrain. My goal was to create a cohesive brand identity that reflects Tymbr's adventurous spirit while ensuring clarity and consistency across all applications.
I began by researching how tech companies, particularly in the outdoor and navigation sectors, approach their branding. After defining Tymbr’s mission and values, I explored various logo styles, creating a typographical, abstract, and descriptive logo. Feedback from peers helped refine the direction, and I selected a typographical logo as the final design, which was versatile across different formats. Once the logo was finalized, I created logo variations, including a horizontal version for wide formats and a stacked version for square spaces, ensuring flexibility in branding. I then developed Tymbr’s color scheme, incorporating ‘Baltic Sea’ as the primary tone, with ‘Trailblazer Orange’ as a vibrant accent color. This palette was chosen to evoke a sense of technicality and adventure, aligning with the brand’s core values. To complete the brand identity, I designed a website homepage and business card, integrating the logo, color scheme, and typography guidelines. I ensured that the branding remained consistent across all applications, providing clear instructions for when each variation and color should be used.
