Project details

My class was assigned to create a logo for a classmate.

For this assignment, I designed a personal logo for my classmate, Emma Leavitt. Emma wanted a logo that reflected her love for birds, particularly peacocks, and requested an elegant yet strong visual identity. She preferred a combination of sans serif and script fonts to capture both sophistication and modernity, and she specifically asked for dark green tones, avoiding any bright colors. The logo was intended for personal use on her website or Facebook page, and my goal was to create a design that not only represented her interests but also aligned with her aesthetic preferences.

My Process

Designing a Logo That Soars: The Creative Process

To begin, I interviewed Emma to gather insights into her personality and preferences. Her love for peacocks stood out as the key theme, and I used that as the foundation for the design. I sketched a variety of concepts, exploring ways to incorporate the elegance and strength of a peacock into a personal logo. I experimented with different combinations of sans serif and script fonts to balance modernity with grace. After receiving feedback from Emma on the initial sketches, I moved to Illustrator to create three refined logo variations, each featuring dark green tones as requested. I sent these versions to Emma for review, and based on her feedback, I made further adjustments to ensure the final logo met her vision. The process involved refining font pairings and subtle tweaks to the peacock elements, resulting in a final approved design that perfectly captured Emma’s unique personality and style.
